Our Family
It's just the three of us....John, Barbie and Jakob. We love spending time together. We live in Flower Mound, Texas which is located just north of Dallas. We moved here in 2006 to get away from the DC/Northern Virginia rat race. The best decision of our lives. Our home is always open, we have plenty of space...come see us some time!
John
Husband. Dad. Friend. Provider.
First and foremost, John is a family man. He always prioritizes Jakob and Barbie. He is the backbone of our family, and frankly the rational one in the bunch.
He works hard at his job in cyber security, managing over 20 people. He is well respected for his intelligence, calm demeanor, and ability to get things done.
Barbie
Wife. Mom. Landscaper. Scheduler.
As the impulsive, some may say impatient, one in the family, she's all about getting things done...now. As a stay at home wife (cause Jakob is away at college), she looks for projects to do around the house, which drives John crazy.
She's also the worrier, making sure everyone does what they need to do and gets where they are supposed to be.
A former fitness instructor, she now walks for fitness as well as working in the yard. And when the dogs let her, she hangs out in the hammock or by the pool.
Jakob
Son. Friend. Eagle Scout. College Student.
Jakob is a kind-hearted and loving person. As his parents we tend to be partial to singing his praises, but he truly is "a good kid". His favorite thing to do is watch videos on YouTube. So you can often find him laughing with his headphones in.
He works hard in school and tries his best. He completed his Eagle Scout at 15 years old, a goal he set when joining Boy Scouts. He is currently attending Texas Tech with the plan to get a degree in Computer Engineering. He wants to be like his dad.
Growing up he was often described as John's "mini me". Now he is taller and has more facial hair than John. Though he looks nothing like Barbie, you can see some Leckert traits....long skinny feet and fingers, and his skin color.
